May 31, Sara Larquier's Walk-Off HR in 8th Gives Glory 5-2 Win over New England

Game recap. NPF Website Story. Lots of red on the field tonight, as both teams had red shirts. Sarah Pauly vs Jocelyn Forest. We've started the games a little late so far this season, but I failed to notice the start time tonight, since it wasn't a work night and I had no gam... [More]

May 30, Glory loses 6-2 to New England Riptide

Game recap. No Glory MySpace entry, so here's the NPF Website story. It seems that things apparently aren't going to continue exactly like last year, when we won our second game 2-0. Tonight's matchup was what I thought we'd see for the opener, Eileen Canney vs Desire... [More]

NPF Stats Site Updated for 2008

Now that the season is underway, the NPF website finally put up the stat pages for 2008. I use these to populate my database, which now includes 2008 data. (Except for Akron, which does not play until June 6.) I'm still testing the overnight automatic-updating, so the stats may not be quit... [More]

    Thoughts about New Facility

Overall, I'd say opening night came across very well. I know it was chaos in the preceedingweeks and even hours, this was not at all evident to me, other than very minor issues. The biggest, and most confusing, was the idea that our tickets were to be scanned at the ticket window, rather ... [More]

May 29, Glory Starts the Same Way as Last Year, Beating New England 4-0

Game recap. Glory's MySpace Blog Entry. First game at the facility at Westfield HS. I'll write a separate post about that. So, I was completely wrong about the starters. It was Sarah Pauly vs  Erica Beach. (Last year's opener had Pauly vs Forest.) We were in red ... [More]

Nichole Thompson Injured in Practice, May be Out for Season

I don't have all the details yet, but it seems that this happened within 2 hours after she arrived in town. (I heard that this was yesterday, but I don't know if that is true.) She was on crutches tonight, with her knee in some sort of cast-type thing. There is fear that this is a torn A... [More]

Opening Day 2008 and a Preview of New England Series

Getting ready to head to the new location at Westfield HS. A friend I mentioned last year, Amanda, works at the school, and she has been instrumental in getting things worked out between the team, school, and county. From what I hear, it's been chaotic. Just yesterday, she said we had seat... [More]

Team NPF Includes Only 2 Glory Players

Okay, so we just put a real scare into Team USA when Sarah Pauly shut them out for 5 innings a couple weekends ago up in Bowie. Not to mention we are the defending league champions. So how in the world do we only have 2 players on Team NPF, announced today? (And Pauly wasn't even one of them!)... [More]

Pauly Shuts Out the Best in the World for 5 Innings, but Glory lose 2-0

Google Maps told us it was about an hour drive, without traffic, so we left at 2:15 for the 4 PM start. It seems that the stadium has never handled this large of a crowd, because finding a parking spot ended up taking about 20 minutes. So by the time I got to my seat, the players had already bee...
