June 17, vs Team China (2-1 Win)

    Glory's MySpace blog entry.

    Game recap.

We completed the season sweep today, though this was by far the closest game of the 4. Desiree pitched the full seven innings, striking out 4 and giving up just 2 hits, none after the first inning. But Team China made the most of those 2 hits, scoring the first run of the game.

We came back to tie in our half of the first. Kelly Kretschman battled to earn a free pass, and reached second on Catalina Morris's sac bunt. Amber Jackson's infield single moved Kelly to third, bringing Oli to the plate. A lot happened during this at-bat: Amber was thrown out trying to steal second, then Kelly scored on a passed ball. Oli's groundout to second ended the inning.

That was all the scoring until the bottom of the fifth. A two-out bunt single by Kelly extended the inning. Catalina was hit by a pitch, moving Kelly to second, and Amber drove her in with a single up the middle.

That was it. The game was short and sweet (at less than 2 hours), which was nice both because of the 92 degrees, and my league games which have a 6:30 start.

The next series starts Wed vs Team Venezuala.
