June 22, vs Team Venezuela (9-4 Loss)

    Glory's MySpace blog entry.

    Game recap.

This being a Friday game, I had league games. Cheering on the Glory tonight were Lisa's daughter Britt and her posse.

Based on the recap and the MySpace blog entry, this was not a pretty game. We were down 5 before coming to the plate, and down seven before we finally scored a run in the 3rd. The Glory's 5 errors certainly didn't help, leading to 3 unearned runs, but Team Venezuela also hit well off both Sarah Pauly and Jen Musillo (including 2 homers, both off Pauly).

The Glory scored four runs, which is usually enough to win, but not tonight. Offensive highlights include Amber Jackson's fourth home run of the year, a triple by Kelly Kretschman, and doubles by Nicole Barber and Callie Piper (which must have been quite a shot, since she has catcher's speed).

Sarah Pauly took the loss to fall to 5-2 on the year. One huge positive I want to note is the game set a new high for attendance this season, close to 1000 strong. Attendance has been getting better every series, so hopefully this trend will continue.
