November 14, League Announces 48 Game "Balanced" Schedule for 2008

Other items from the meeting of team owners:

    1) Each team will play the other 5 teams in the league 8 times, which I would assume means a home-and-away series with each team. This means we will have the opportunity to see Chicago visit the GMU stadium, unlike in 2007. (Of course, Jennie Finch won't be with Chicago this year, most likely.)

    2) Each team also gets 2 home series with a visiting National team. We will host Team Australia and Team Netherlands, as will Philly and NE. Team Canada and Team Venezuela will visit the other 3 NPF teams.

    3) Each team will have a 5-member "development team." This sounds similar to the Redskins practice squad.

    4) "New media program ... will include the broadcast of regularly scheduled games." No actual details were given. A better website was also promised.

    5) "Road to Kimberley" promotion to include NPF's version of a Home Run Derby, which sounds to me like most Glory games.

    6) Draft to be broadcast live on Feb 18th. I assume that means via the website.

    7) Strike Zone to match new 2008 NCAA version. Also umpire improvements were mentioned.

    8) League attempting to sell naming rights to the league as a whole.
