Yes, I know that this is a stretch in terms of NPF, but since nothing else is going on...
So as long as NPF star Jennie Finch is on it, I might as well cover it.
The teams are divided into men vs women, and former Apprentice wanna-be Omarosa
was the team lead for the ladies. She specifically decided NOT to use their "celebrity"
for the first task, selling hot dogs. The men took the opposite approach,
with Gene Simmons calling some contacts to come down and buy $5000 (or more)
hot dogs for charity.
The women also chose not to use their "charms" to sell, at least at the start.
(Again, Omarosa's decision, based on her previous experience on the show.)
Although, later in the sales day, she did ask Playmate of the Year Tiffany Fallon
to entice the crowd to buy. The only reason the women got passed $1000 was
Marilu Henner called a contact of hers, and then Jennie Finch got
Mets 3B David Wright to buy out the cart at the end of the event. But it wasn't enough.
The final result was about $52 K for the guys, and about $17 K for the ladies.
Omarosa brought Tiffany and "original supermodel" Carol Alt into the final boardroom
(Tiffany for failure to "sell" and Carol for choosing the location, which she did
since she was the only New Yorker). Neither of these reasons actually made
a difference in the outcome, since there was no chance that they were going to
hit 50 K from the average people on the street. The real reason they lost was
the fact that the men used their contacts from the beginning and the women didn't.
Even though this was Omarosa's decision, she was able to turn it around on Tiffany,
who said she was "saving" contact Hugh Hefner for a later task. So The Donald fired
Tiffany, and Omarosa lives to cause trouble another week.
Jennie Finch wasn't really in this episode very much. The only real screen time she
got was when she pulled in David Wright, when she asked rhetorically
"who's bigger" in New York baseball. Well, how about A-Rod or Derek Jeter?
I don't know when this was filmed, so maybe those guys weren't in town.
