June 7, Glory at Rockford (2-0 Loss)

    Game recap.

    NPF website story.

Placeholder in case I still have no power.

Yay, power came back around 2 PM today. Which is nice, as I had 7:30 games and it is hot out there. Turns out that the second one got called due to weather, so here I am back around 9:30. Rockford's website has just posted a short summary of our 2-0 loss.

2 more Glory errors, but they did not play a part in the outcome. The two Rockford runs came on a 1-out, solo HR from Savannah Brown in the 2nd, then a leadoff HR from Jamie Davison in the 3rd. (The errors this time were from first-timers, Callie Piper and Desiree Serrano. Piper's was catcher interference, and Desi's was on the first batter of the game, due to too much sitting around watching the Team NPF games, instead of playing.)

Not many hits by either team (3 for us, 5 for them), which made for a quick game, coming in at 1:46. The only Glory players to reach base were Larquier, Oli, and Hughes on singles, and Barber, Oli (again) and Moore (twice) by walks. Plus Morris on a plunk. Bures cooled off, going 0-4 and leaving 4 on base, possibly because she was at DH instead of in the field to start.

In other interesting lineup news, Jackson was batting 6th, possibly because she's now at .077. But Dignon was at the 2-spot for the second straight night, and she was only 1-8 entering the game.

The 4th straight game with no Glory HRs. Last year, in the regular season, we never went more than 2 games without a HR, and did that only twice (July 25 and 26 at Racers, and Aug 10 and 11 at Bandits).

Other than those 2 dingers, Desi pitched a good game, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 3 and walking 1. Her loss makes her 1-2 on the year.  Megan Brown continues to impress for Rockford, as she's now 2-0 with a 1.04 ERA. Brown takes over the lead league from Pauly.
