August 22, Chicago Beats New England 4-1 in Game 1 of Championship Series

The Bandits radio team was doing the game, but they aren't sticking around to do our game.

Kristina Thorson started for the Bandits, but she gave up a solo HR in the third to Lisa Modglin, and was promptly removed in favor of Jessica Sallinger. Eileen Canney took the circle for New England.

The Bandits came right back in the bottom of the third, as Stacy May singled, then scored on a 2-run HR off the bat of Kristie Fox. They added two more runs in the bottom of the 6th. This time it was Jaime Clark who singled, then scored on a 2-run HR by Nicole Trimboli. (There seemed to be something said about the center fielder running through the fence in center and maybe catching it, but it was still a home run.)

Sallinger ended up no-hitting the Riptide over the final 4.2 innings. Canney struck out 5 and gave up 6 hits, but two of those were HRs, and that was the ballgame.

The next radio game will be approx 7 PM Saturday night, as the Bandits will face the winner of Friday night's game 2.
