The NPF accounced that the championship will be played in Akron this season, and will take place August 20-23. As expected, there is also a format change. The 1st place team will play the 4th place team in a best-of-three series, as will the 2nd and 3rd place teams. These games will take place on the 20th and 21st, with the "if" games on the afternoon of the 22nd. The winners will meet in another best-of-3 series, beginning the evening of the 22nd, with one or two games to follow on the 23rd.

There will be a FanFest and Battle-of-the-Bats finale on the 19th, along with "Opening Ceremonies."
