I just heard this from Jarrod. Their website is mostly empty now, with links going to TheSoftballNetwork.com now. No official word at this time.
Not sure what us season-ticket holders can do about refunds just yet.

Yes, unfortunately the news is true. A new group of investors attempted to purchase the insolvent team from our previous owner at the conclusion of the 2008 season. As the deal was almost finalized, more and more undisclosed debt from the previous owner continued to come forward. The entire team, coaches, and support staff were informed this morning. The new investing group did everthing possible to make this happen, their efforts will go unknown, but we appreciate all they have done in the past 7 months. CoachErin

My wife and I live in Norfolk and for the past two years have enjoyed driving to the Fairfax area for the games. The young ladies of the NPF are the epitome of all that is good in sports, and worthy role models for youngsters everywhere. The Washington Glory will be sorely missed. They were a bright spot in a world that seems to have fewer bright spots every day. Larry Stanfield Norfolk,Va.

The Glory players and coaches contributed a great deal to this area and will be missed. Coach Erin spent so much time with the youth players (both travel and house players). She was wonderful at facilitating a parnership with The Glory and the travel programs in the area, this provided training opportunities to the youth players which will be greatly missed. Coach Erin took the time and put the energy into building relationships with the youth players, her impact on youth programs in the area has been positive and powerful. She was the constant work horse behind The Glory. I'm sorry to hear the news of The Glory folding after seeing how much the program has helped youth players in the area largely due to Coach Erin's constant efforts. I hope the players and coaches know how much the fans appreciate them and wish them well.

Now on the WashingtonGlory.com site: "Washington Glory 2009/2010 season ticket holders should contact the 2008 Team Owner" There are a lot of words I could use to describe how Glory fans are being treated but none of them are printable in a family forum.

For the past two years the Glory has served as role models for the next generation of Fastpitch Softball players and female athletes in Virginia and Maryland. It is a shame that we will no longer have these fantastic players helping to mentor our daughters to softball excellence. I know Erin G. worked very hard with the girls of all abilities in the area. My hat is off to everyone who did what they did for the right reason. I hope someday soon we will be able to bring Pro Fastpitch Softball back to the area.

Spy Softball has a story about the NPF weighing a couple of options so the team can play. Although, it looks like Coach Carrie won't be back.
